Alcon, an eye care company, had data on approximately 218,000 individuals published by the ShinyHunters group in August 2026 following an extortion campaign.
According to Have I Been Pwned, in August 2026 the ShinyHunters threat group named Alcon in a "pay or leak" extortion campaign. When Alcon did not comply, the group published data they claimed to have sourced from the company.
The published data contained around 218,000 unique email addresses. According to HIBP, the remaining fields were largely corporate business-to-business contact information, including names, phone numbers, and physical addresses.
Approximately 218,395 individuals are listed in the exposed dataset. Given the B2B nature of the contact fields, those affected are likely business contacts, partners, or customers of Alcon rather than general consumers.
If you have a business relationship with Alcon, be alert for phishing emails or unsolicited calls that use your contact details.
